Background
For this project, I opted for an independent brief, and developed the initial concept:
Libation hopes to bring a different kind of DIY experience to everyone - whether they are cooped up at home and missing their favorite bar, or having a gathering and want to impress guests.
Libation wants to provide a space to discover new recipes, refine your favorites, and share your very own concoctions.
Research & Define
Through market, competitor, and user research, I began to define problem spaces and their potential opportunities:
How might we deliver a product that provides an easily accessible and adaptable resource for making a craft cocktail at home?
How might we make the process as simple and streamlined as possible?
Building off of my research findings, I dug deeper into the story of Libation.
Brand Identity
My concept for Libation’s brand identity stemmed from the definition itself and the symbolism involved. I wanted to hone in on this concept of a Libation being an offering or tribute - reinforcing the brand’s desire to reflect quality and the importance of the process.
Responsive Wireframes & Prototyping
The development of the UX design revolved around the desire to streamline and organize. This included elements such as “pinning” different actions, as well as expanded recipe views for when the user is in the process of making a drink.
Hi-Fi Design
Adding the brand identity to the UI design, I began developing the display to be both minimal and playful.
